The King of Love My Shepherd Is

Sharing the Sabbath news that little Charli is now up to 2 lbs.!

This morning I was thinking on this hymn and thought of the Gentle Shepherd feeding his tiny little lamb, Charli Rease. I was thinking how he delights in every ounce she gains. I was thinking that the Vaughans lack nothing because they are His.

Text: Henry W. Baker, 1821-1877
Music: Irish Melody;

1. The King of love my shepherd is,
whose goodness faileth never.
I nothing lack if I am his,
and he is mine forever.

2. Where streams of living water flow,
my ransomed soul he leadeth;
and where the verdant pastures grow,
with food celestial feedeth.

3. Perverse and foolish, oft I strayed,
but yet in love he sought me;
and on his shoulder gently laid,
and home, rejoicing, brought me.

4. In death's dark vale I fear no ill,
with thee, dear Lord, beside me;
thy rod and staff my comfort still,
thy cross before to guide me.

5. Thou spreadst a table in my sight;
thy unction grace bestoweth;
and oh, what transport of delight
from thy pure chalice floweth!

6. And so through all the length of days,
thy goodness faileth never;
Good Shepherd, may I sing thy praise
within thy house forever.

  1. i've thought of charli (and you) often as alex and i were moving mclean home from college this weekend. we talked about charli and all she's been experiencing this past week and for all of the intercessors praying for charli and your family. so thankful to be part of this body of Christ who are asking, singing, groaning, and shouting on behalf of this tiny (yet getting bigger) little girl. To God be the GLORY!!
