Today I had the gift of time with Kelly and Adam to embrace them, cry together and share.
As Kelly and I were saying goodbye I told her, "I am singing songs over you." and she said, "Sing them loud."
I have been thinking about that all afternoon.
I have been thinking about the power of songs sung to the Lord. Songs sung over those we love.
Zephaniah 3:17 reminds me, "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
So, as I was praying and thinking about Charli and the whole Vaughan family I started thinking about what if those of us who are praying and waiting and grieving and hoping along with them were to choose even just one song of HOPE that we sang - OUT LOUD - maybe just once, maybe every day for awhile - and what if every person sang LOUD songs of HOPE to our KING in honor of this family - and what if people commented on facebook - or this blog - or in their churches - or wherever and shared what their song of HOPE is.....
What if we joined our voices with the LOUD and POWERFUL Voice of our KING who is singing over Kelly and Adam and Emmiline and Eloise and Elliott and Charli and YOU and ME - and our LOUD songs of HOPE kept our hearts open and alive?
so....would you prayerfully choose a hymn or chorus or song of some kind that is full of HOPE and would you sing it OUT LOUD and would you share the title with us....
i'll be singing. you know i will. and chances are i'll be SHOUTING. and probably crying, too, because that's just how i roll…
ReplyDeleteMy Jesus…
My Savior…
Lord
there is NONE like You;
All of my days
I want to PRAISE
the wonders of Your mighty love.
My COMFORT…
my shelter…
Tower of REFUGE
and STRENGTH
let EVERY breath…
ALL that I am (not just part of me… but ALL!!)
NEVER CEASE to worship You.
SHOUT to the Lord, all the earth,
let us sing…
POWER and MAJESTY…
PRAISE to the KING!!!!
mountains bow down and the seas will ROAR
at the sound of Your name.
I sing for JOY at the work of Your hands,
forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand,
NOTHING compares to the PROMISE I have in You.
Singing and praising and PRAYING over the vaughans, Lord. keep them close…
(Sorry, don't mean to hog your blog…)
ReplyDeleteThrough the Fire by the Crabb Family
So many times i've questioned certain circumstances
Or things I could not understand
Many times in trials, weakness blurs my vision
And my frustration gets so out of hand
Its then I am reminded I've never been forsaken
I've never had to stand the test alone
As I look at all the victories
The spirit rises up in me
And its through the fire my weakness is made strong
Chorus:
He never promised that the cross would not get heavy
And the hill would not be hard to climb
He never offered our victories without fighting
But He said help would always come in time
Just remember when your standing in the valley of decision
And the adversary says give in
Just hold on, our Lord will show up
And He will take you through the fire again
Vaughns, I am singing Majesty for you today. HE is in control. He sees you, He sees Charli, I'm praying He wraps His arms around your entire family.
ReplyDeleteMajesty worship His Majesty
Unto Jesus, be all glory,
Power and praise
Majesty, Kingdom authority
Flow from His throne,
Unto his own, His anthem raise.
So exalt, lift up on high
The Name of Jesus
Magnify, come glorify,
Christ Jesus the King
Majesty, worship His Majesty
Jesus who died, now glorified,
King of all Kings.
You take my mourning and turn it into dancing, You take my weeping and turn it into joy! You bring Restoration! Hallelujah, Hallelujah, you make all things new, all things new!
ReplyDeleteAlso a song came to mind as I was pleading for Charli's life.
Welcomed in to the courts of the King, Ive been ushered into Your presence. Lord I stand on Your merciful ground, yet with every step tread with reverence.
I fall facedown let your glory shine around, yes I'll fall facedown as your glory shines around.
Who is there in the heavens like you? And upon the earth, who's your equal? You are far above, You're the highhest of heights. We are bowing down to exalt You.
So let your glory shine around, let your glory shine around, King of glory, here be found, King of glory.
I fall facedown, let Your Glory shine around, yes I'll fall facedown as your Glory shines around.
My prayer songs for this precious family is a recent found favorite. It's called "Invade" by Watermark. Kelly, I'm singing loud for my hero. Here are the lyrics:
ReplyDeleteCome, come in
Invade all You see of us
Any man, who'd walk Your road is welcomed here
And You're the only one
Chorus:
Jesus, come and walk the halls of this house
Tread this place and turn it inside out
With Your mercy...
Jesus, teach us the prayers that open these doors
Until Your light floods in and illuminates these floors
And let Your truth be on our steps and in these rooms
Jesus invade...
Reach, reach in
With the hand that heals all our suffering
Conquer all that is not of You
Bring Your spirit throught
As we fill these walls with Your praise
I call for angels
I call for mercy
I call for freedom
In the name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus
i love that you asked us to share....
ReplyDeletei had pulled out one of my favorite books that sits at our piano this weekend, Then Sings My Soul...and was drawn to this hymn..so today, all day, i sing it and play it for you charli, and for adam and kelly and the vaughan family...we love you!!! the rambler family

and be gracious,
and be gracious,
the Lord be gracious,
gracious unto you.

You're My Beloved
You're My Bride
To sing over you is My delight
Come away with Me My love
You're Beautiful to Me
So beautiful to Me
Under My mercy
Come and wait
Till we are standing face to face
I see no stain on you
My child
You're Beautiful to Me
So Beautiful to Me
I sing over you My song of peace
Cast all your care down at My feet
Come and find your rest in Me
I'll breathe My life inside of you
I'll bear you up on eagle's wings
And hide you in the shadow of My strength
I'll take you to My quiet waters
I'll restore your soul
Come rest in Me and be made whole
You're My beloved
You're My Bride
To sing over you is my delight
Come away with me my love
being sung over you by abby...
be bold and be strong
banish fear and doubt
for the promise of your God
is to bless your coming in
and to bless your going out
rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, rejoice!
we love you! gretchen, aric, abby, andrew and adam
