The word Remember can be defined in several ways. Two of those are 1. to recall to the mind by an act or effort of memory; think of again 2. to retain in the memory; keep in mind; remain aware of
I am thankful to have the opportunity to create just one remembering spot for the Adam Vaughan family.
This remembering spot is for recalling the gift of God’s creation in Lincoln and Tucker Vaughan. It is also a remembering space to remain aware of the ways that God is at work in the life of Charli Rease Vaughan. Likewise it represents an invitation to use our memories to take the needs of the whole Vaughan family (Adam, Kelly, Emmiline, Eloise, Elliott and Charli) to the throne of God in prayer.
It is a place of words and thoughts and prayers and questions.
It will contain photos and notes along the journey with the Vaughan family as they are Walking by Faith.
Thank you for REMEMBERING.
Adam & Kelly will be sharing and I, Lea Kelly, will be posting.
Kelly was entering her 25th week of her pregnancy with the triplets, Lincoln, Tucker, and Charli. On Tuesday morning April 6, 2010, the Vaughans found out that Lincoln had died, when Kelly went to her doctor’s appointment. During the next 24 hours Kelly went into premature labor. Tucker Troy and Charli Rease were born on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at University of Tennessee hospital. Tucker weighed 1 lb. 15 ounces and Charli weighed 1 lb. 9 ounces.
God allowed Adam & Kelly some very precious, though difficult, time with Tucker Troy before he died on Friday, April 9, 2010.
During Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the Holy Spirit gave Kelly remembrance of lyrics to this song by Casting Crown, called Voice of Truth. The words “Do not be afraid” were especially present with her.
Oh, what I would do to have
the kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown
Where Jesus is,
And he's holding out his hand
But the waves are calling out my name
and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
time and time again
"Boy, you'll never win,
You you'll never win
But the Voice of truth tells me a different story
the Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the Voice of truth says "this is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth
Oh, what I would do
to have the kind of strength it takes
To stand before a giant
with just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound
of a thousand warriors
shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand
But the giant's calling out
my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
time and time again
"Boy you'll never win,
you'll never win."
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
the Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the Voice of truth says "this is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth
But the stone was just the right size
to put the giant on the ground
and the waves they don't seem so high
from on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
when I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
singing over me
But the Voice of truth tells me a different story
The Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of truth says "this is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me)
I will choose to listen and believe (I will choose to listen and believe)
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth
I will listen and believe
I will listen and believe the Voice of truth
I will listen and believe
'Cause Jesus you are the Voice of truth
And I will listen to you.. oh you are the Voice of truth
The Spirit has given words to Adam like, “"Do you not know, have you not heard... those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength..." and "Do not fear... for I am the Lord... do not fear..."
While walking through the parking lot at UT hospital these words went through His remembrance, "This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice for He has made me glad."
God is continuing to tell him and teach him that He can be trusted.
God is allowing the whole Vaughan family to grieve, celebrate, process, talk, wait, and grow. They are asking that we join them by praying for them in these specific areas:
- that Charli’s heart valve will close all the way and that she will continue to be free from infection
- that Charli’s lungs will develop with strength. She has been taken off one breathing machine and now has a CPAP which is good news
- for Charli’s doctors and nurses to have wisdom and gentleness and good health themselves as they care for her
- for Kelly’s milk supply to increase
- for Emmiline, Eloise, and Elliott and how each of them are processing the changes in their family
- for grace and peace to shield Adam & Kelly
- for rest and healing and remembering
